OLIVEIRA
Born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1980, Jorge Oliveira's martial arts journey began with karate as a child. After time away from training, he rediscovered his calling through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, beginning his journey under the guidance of Ricardo and Eduardo Arrivabene.
Jorge built an impressive competitive career throughout Brazil, claiming multiple state championship titles in São Paulo. His story took a defining turn in 2011, when a serious accident severely damaged his spine and required surgery — a setback that would have ended most athletes' careers.
His response was pure determination. After months of recovery and rehabilitation, Jorge returned to competition — and won. He became a state champion once again, proving that the true strength of a champion is forged in the hardest moments.
In 2013, he received his black belt from Danny Abu of the Macaco Gold Team. Now based in Osceola, Jorge leads Squad BJJ with a singular mission: build a strong, welcoming community and develop champions of all ages and skill levels.
SANTOS
Lívia Santos began her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey at a very young age and started competing at just 10 years old. Her natural talent and relentless dedication quickly elevated her to the highest levels of the sport — competing on the world's biggest stages before most athletes even begin their journey.
Her competition record speaks for itself: IBJJF World Championship silver medalist in Gi (2019), bronze in No-Gi, Pan American Championship silver in Gi (2020), American National Champion in No-Gi (2020), and American National Champion in Gi (2021). Each title earned as a juvenile and youth competitor.
Beyond her personal achievements, Lívia found her true calling in teaching. She began assisting with kids' classes in 2019 and developed an immediate passion for mentoring young athletes. At Squad BJJ, she leads the kids' program with purpose and energy, shaping the next generation of grapplers on and off the mat.
SANTOS
Manuella Santos began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at just six years old, and has grown into one of Squad BJJ's most decorated and inspiring young athletes. Her results speak volumes about her technical precision, competitive hunger, and the exceptional training environment at Squad BJJ.
Her championship record is extraordinary: a Pan Champion in Gi, a two-time Pan No-Gi Champion, a two-time World No-Gi Champion, and a five-time American National Champion. These achievements — earned through years of dedicated training — reflect a young athlete of rare talent and discipline.
Since Squad BJJ first opened its doors, Manuella has been actively involved in assisting kids' classes alongside Jorge and Lívia. She brings infectious energy, genuine patience, and a gift for connecting with young students — helping them build not just technical skills, but confidence, discipline, and a real love for Jiu-Jitsu.
